The Start - 2015
In January 2015, Premium Homes started out after the directors and owners Madelein Lamley and Wayne Myburgh decided to go into the market under their own brand and identity. The underlying premise was and is that, as a Real Estate sales company, we would establish a home for agents where they could maximise their income but, simultaneously, operate under a professional brand. As agents, the options for larger brands were and are to deal with a large split in commissions, to pay excessive desk fees, or, finally, to work for a smaller company but not necessarily have the experience a professional brand offers. Our plan was to offer the best of all worlds; a large commission split, low desk/branding fee and a professional brand. Culturally, as a company, we also wanted to create an environment where mutual respect and support and ethical, professional behaviour would be our requirement. If these objectives were achieved, agents would join our company long term. It is expected of our our agents to have a high level of independence and the relationship with the company is to be one of a business partnership. We provide the brand and umbrella under which our partners can operate and, as you will see, they tend to thrive in this environment.
Our progress since 2015 to current:
Since 2015, our company has grown into two separate divisions; rentals and sales. We have sales agents in eight different regions with three primary focus areas. Bloemfontein is the hub of the company having been active in the market for the past seven years. Due to the quality of our agents, we have resources in residential, commercial and agricultural areas in terms of sales and knowledge, while the rental division primarily focuses on residential rentals. Since January of 2022, they have been managing their first three sectional title residential complexes. The rental department consists currently of six staff members.
Expansion and Growth
In 2019, after four years of continual growth, we decided to expand and open more sales offices. We, like the rest of South Africa, I believe, have seen the huge impact of competent municipal management in the Western Cape. This has led to, not only attracting international residents, but has also led to an aggressive internal migration within the borders of our country. In short, our analysis has shown an average growth of above
12% in residential property prices over the last five years. Our decision to expand to George, Mosselbay area and Somerset West was also based on our business model and our experience as a company.
Our objectives
Simply put, Premium Homes wishes to be a localised and professional brand where property practioners can build a long term business within ours and provide excellent service. We place great value in personal trust and support amongst our agents and staff, which in turn allows residential owners to trust and experience our brand.
